Monaco quali: Artem P4, Luca P9

Artem Markelov will start F2's blue riband Monaco feature race from the second row of the grid with his quickest lap (1m19.647s) the very last one of Monte Carlo's split second session, which afforded drivers just 16 minutes to get to grips with the unique challenge of the two-mile street circuit!

Luca Ghiotto (1m20.080s), meanwhile, was fifth quickest in the first 'odd numbered' session and will therefore line up on the fifth row of the grid. Pole position was narrowly claimed by series leader Charles Leclerc, 0.02s ahead of Alexander Albon, while Artem lines up alongside Oliver Rowland.

Artem Markelov: «I was pleased with my quick laps at the end of the session because at Monaco it's easy to make a mistake if you go hard straight away. I set a purple first sector on my best lap and a place on the second row of the grid will give me a chance to fight and hopefully win Monaco a second time!»

Luca Ghiotto: «It was not an ideal session for me and there was a small mistake at the chicane. Another two tenths would have seen me on the third row but it will not be easy to score good points from the fifth row because everyone knows that overtaking at Monte Carlo is very difficult. I will give it everything though.»

Svetlana Strelnikova (Team principal): «Artem produced a strong performance to qualify on the second row. Monaco demands precision and accuracy and the race always tends to see a lot of incident, so it's not the sort of track where you want to start making predictions, but Artem's racing commitment has always spoken for itself. Luca will have a tougher time from row five but strong points are certainly not beyond him.»
