Starting 11th, Evans finished eighth, while Markelov went from 22nd after his accident in Saturday’s feature race, all the way up to 13th. Markelov made up most of his ground with a great start that saw him up seven places at the end of the opening lap, and right behind his team mate!

Official press releaseRead more Russian Time drivers Artem Markelov and Mitch Evans face a tough task in the team’s home race at Sochi Autodrome after a challenging qualifying session in which rain and circuit conditions made things difficult. The Sochi circuit is renowned for its relatively low-grip surface and the situation was complicated by a diesel spill from a course vehicle that earlier delayed F1 practice.

It was Russian Time’s first win of 2015 and adds to the victories Evans scored with the team at Silverstone and Hockenheim last year.
