Oliver Rowland and Antonio Fuoco have been disqualified from this evening’s feature race at the Yas Marina Circuit following the race stewards’ review of reports from the Technical Delegate regarding anomalies found during post-race scrutineering.

With second place in the F2 drivers’ series and the teams’ overall championship still up for grabs in the Abu Dhabi season finale, Russian Time made a strong start when Artem Markelov claimed his first F2 pole position at the impressive Yas Marina circuit.

Artem Markelov scored his fourth F2 victory of the 2017 season with a fine blend of tyre conservation and aggressive driving to take the chequered flag almost 12s clear of Nicholas Latifi, whose DAMS team mate Oliver Rowland finished third. Luca Ghiotto, who started from the front row of the grid, was taken off at Turn 2 by contact with Jordan King but drove a fabulous recovery race, which included a tyre stop, to finish fourth, right with the DAMS pair.

Both Artem Markelov and Luca Ghiotto had unfortunate races for different reasons in the penultimate feature race of the 2017 F2 Championship at Jerez, Spain, but emerged with fifth and seventh places respectively.

The penultimate round of the 2017 F2 Championship has started well for Russian Time at Jerez, in Spain, with Luca Ghiotto (1m24.942s) qualifying on the front row alongside pole position man Charles Leclerc (1m24.682s). Team mate Artem Markelov (1m25.422s) is also among the pace-setters and lines up fifth for tomorrow’s feature event.
